B.Sc. in Physics, PUC-Rio de Janeiro (1991). Ph.D. in Physics, University of California at Berkeley (1998): nonlinear vibrational spectroscopy of surfactants at interfaces. Post-doc, University of California at Santa Barbara (1999-2001): used ultrafast pump-probe spectroscopy to investigate charge carrier photogeneration in semiconducting polymers. Assistant Professor of Physics at Sao Paulo State University (2001-2003). Assistant (2003-2015) and now Associate Professor of Physics at the University of Sao Paulo (USP), Brazil. Has experience in physical chemistry of interfaces, focusing on using sum-frequency vibrational spectroscopy to investigate the molecular arrangement at interfaces (adsorption, polyelectrolyte thin films, electrochemistry, Langmuir and Langmuir-Blodgett films). Another research topic includes the use of optical absorption, photoluminescence and pump-probe spectroscopy to investigate charge photogeneration and energy transfer in semiconducting conjugated polymers.
